A client named Tim from Meigs, GA, recently contacted Precision Audio in Bainbridge about his custom-built 2019 Bracewell Boat. Bracewell Boats is a custom boat shop in Blountstown Fl. He started researching an aluminum boat spray-in liner solution. The floor and sides of the hull get unbearably hot when the boat is out on the water, and the client had heard that Line-X was an excellent solution. We met with the client, discussed the benefits of Line-X and provided him with a quote to install Line-X on the hull of his boat.
Our first step was to remove the boat’s seats and remaining equipment so we could prep the hull. Once the hull was empty and wiped down to be sure it was free of any contaminants, we started the sanding process. We have heard of other shops that forego this step, but even though Line-X is the toughest and most-durable spray-on bedliner in the industry, it needs something to bite into to adhere properly. The sanding process is paramount for reliability of the coating.
With the hull prepped, we masked off the transom, console, seat mounts and any portions of the hull that we would not be coating. We applied a primer seal to the hull to ensure the coating would adhere correctly.
The client asked that we tint the coating a khaki color. We found a very similar khaki pigment and mixed it with the liner to maintain the look of the boat.
This aluminum boat spray-in liner will not only make the boat more comfortable, the Line-X coating will prevent corrosion and leaks. It also serves as a great sound-damping material and will dramatically reduce noise that passes through the hull.
Line-X backs every installation with a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling or bubbling, so the client can be confident his boat will look great forever.
