A client from Bainbridge recently contacted the team at Precision Audio to inquire about upgrading and enhancing his new 2020 Ford F-450 Super Duty. The client wanted new wheels and tires, a leveling kit, tool storage, a grille guard and high-quality floor mats. A member of our team worked with the client to choose the style he wanted for the accessories, then ensured that the choices he made would work perfectly with the new vehicle. Once we had a plan in place, we scheduled an appointment to complete the installation
Ford F-450 Wheel and Tire Upgrade
The client chose a set of American Force Independence 22-inch wheels with 37×12.50/22 Toyo tires. We mounted the tires on the wheels then balanced the assemblies on our Hunter Road Force balancer. This premium wheel balancer applies hundreds of pounds of pressure on the tire to ensure that it’s perfectly centered on the wheel for a smooth ride.
While we had the wheels off, our technicians installed a ReadyLift 66-2725 leveling kit. The kit includes shock extensions with sound isolators as well as sway bar spacers to allow the suspension to move safely through its range of motion. As always, we torque all fasteners to spec during the installation process.
CamLocker Tool Boxes Provide Secure Storage
We installed a 71-inch Camlocker toolbox at the back of the bed behind the cab and a pair of matching black 60-inch side mount boxes on the bed rails. All three boxes are constructed from heavy-gauge aluminum and feature chrome-plated cam-style locking mechanisms.
While upgrading the truck, we added a Stampede 21568 chrome bug shield to the hood and WeatherTech FloorLiner 4410121 and 4410122 mats to the interior. We also installed a Ranch Hand GGF171BL1 Legend Series grille guard on the front of the vehicle. The guard isn’t shown in the photos, but it adds real-world protection to the vehicle should the client come across deer on the road.
Window Tint Adds Comfort and Style
The icing on the cake for this big Ford F-450 was to add Llumar ATR window tint to the front windows. ATR tint not only matches the color of the rear windows, but it also blocks a lot of IR heat from the sun to keep the interior cool. As always, we cut the film on our computer-controlled plotter so that we didn’t have to use a knife or razor anywhere near the truck.
