A longtime customer from Bainbridge, GA, recently stopped by Precision looking to upgrade the wheels and tires on her 2021 BMW X6. Since the BMW X6 is a luxury compact SUV, we decided to look at a few higher-end wheel companies. With an idea of what she was looking for, it took no time to decide on a luxurious set of Niche Misano M117 22-inch wheels and Nitto N420V tires. We placed her order and then set an appointment for the following week.

We started by pulling the BMW X6 onto our chassis lift and removing the stock wheels and tires. Using our Hunter Tire machine, we broke down each wheel to remove the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor and then rebuilt them onto the new aftermarket wheels. Since the factory wheels on the X6 came staggered, we decided to run a 22×9-inch rim on the front, wrapped around a 265/35/22 Nitto N420V tire. For the rear, we used a 22×10.5-inch rim, with a 315/30/22 Nitto N420V tire. This allowed us to keep the staggered appearance of the factory wheels.

Next, we used our Hunter Tire machine to mount the new tires. This machine has a lever-less toolhead, which prevents the chance of damage to the wheel and tires. Once this was completed, we used our Road Force Balancing machine to ensure that the wheels and tires will ride smoothly. We completed the install by mounting the wheels using a set of locking lug nuts, which will help keep them safe from theft, and torqued each lug nut to factory specifications. Doing this ensures that none of the studs will be damaged, stripped or potentially broken from over-tightening with an air-impact gun.

Our customer was thrilled with the way her BMW looked with the new wheels and tires.
