A client from Cairo, Georgia, recently brought his 2022 Toyota Tacoma to Precision Audio to inquire about upgrading the vehicle’s functionality and looks. The client worked with one of our product specialists to pick new tires, a suspension leveling kit, a new grille guard and a storage solution for the bed. We ordered the components he wanted and scheduled an appointment to have our expert technicians complete the installation process.
Toyota Tacoma Suspension and Tire Upgrades
Our technicians started the project with the suspension and tire upgrades. Then, with the truck on our hoist, we removed the stock wheels and tires to install a ReadyLift 66-5055 leveling kit. This kit includes a set of fabricated steel upper strut extensions, spacers for the skid plate and all the hardware we needed to complete the installation. We torqued all the fasteners we worked on back to their factory specifications.
We removed the stock tires from the wheels to make way for a set of Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires sized at 275/70R17. We used our Hunter tire machine to install these new 32.76-inch diameter tires on the wheels. Next, we balanced each of them on our Hunter Road Force balancing machine to ensure that they would run smoothly.
Front Grille and Toolbox Upgrade
Once the suspension and tires were in place, our technicians turned to the grille. They removed the stock unit to make way for a Ranch Hand GGT16MBL1 Legend Series grille guard. This fully welded one-piece grille mounts to the frame on the front of the vehicle to protect it from unexpected obstacles. Again, we’re careful to ensure that each fastener is tightened properly so the 93-pound grille won’t rattle or shake on bumpy roads.
The last step in this upgrade was installing a CamLocker toolbox in the truck’s bed. The client chose a low-profile 63-inch model with tie-down rails around the perimeter. The heavy-duty aluminum toolbox features a carbon steel locking mechanism.

We finished the project by aligning the suspension with our Hunter alignment machine to ensure that it would track true and there wouldn’t be any uneven tire wear. The client returned to Precision Audio to pick up the vehicle and was thrilled with how it looked!
