A returning client from Colquitt dropped into Precision Audio to discuss options to upgrade his 2014 Ram 1500 audio system and add a few accessories. He wanted a radio that included navigation and modern smartphone integration. He was hoping to enhance the safety and functionality of the vehicle. We showed him a few popular audio system upgrade options in our showroom. We also helped him pick a front grille guard and toolbox that would serve his needs. Happy with his selections, we scheduled an appointment to begin the installations.
Ram 1500 Audio System Upgrades
We started the project by installing a Pioneer AVIC-5201NEX multimedia receiver in the dash of the truck. The 5201NEX includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, as well as built-in navigation. We added an Echomaster PCAM10L backup camera just above the rear license plate and tied that into the Pioneer receiver. As soon as the transmission is shifted into reverse, the camera image appears on the screen of the radio. We used a PAC interface to connect the steering wheel radio switches to the new Pioneer unit.
The client wanted more bass in the truck. We installed a pair of Rockford Fosgate R2SD2-12 12-inch shallow-mount subwoofers in an Atrend subwoofer enclosure that is designed to fit under the rear bench seat of the truck. A Rockford P300X1 amplifier provides up to 300 watts to the pair of subs.
Ranch Hand Front Grille Upgrade
The client wanted a tough and durable front grille protector for the vehicle. After looking through several catalogs, he chose a Ranch Hand Legend Series grille guard. These all-steel welded guards are the toughest on the market. Their fit and finish are impressive. We mounted the grille guard to the frame of the truck using the supplied hardware.
Fabricated Aluminum Pickup Truck Toolbox
The last piece of the upgrade project was to install a toolbox in the bed of the truck. The client wanted a solution that offers excellent security and that will stand the test of time. A low profile CamLocker box was the perfect solution. This all-aluminum box features heavy-gauge carbon steel cam-style locks for positive locking. The welded construction ensures the contents will remain secure. The client chose a matte black finish and an integrated tie-down rail to increase his storage options.

With the Ram 1500 audio system installed, tuned, and accessories installed, it was time to return the truck to the client.
