A client from Moultrie recently contacted the team at Precision Audio in Thomasville to inquire about upgrading his 2019 Ram 1500 with a wheel and tire package, a lift kit, step bars and a window tint. We see a lot of new trucks come to our stores for upgrades like these, and our team of accessory experts is happy to assist in choosing the right products to give your truck the look and performance you want. After suggesting truck accessories that this client liked, we scheduled an installation to begin the installation process.
Ram 1500 Wheel and Tire Package
The client chose a set of Fuel D556 Couple wheels in a black finish with dark grey accents on the spokes. We wrapped these 20-inch wheels in a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler tires sized at 35×12.5R20LT. These tires offer great off-road traction, thanks to the deep grooves between the tread blocks. A variable pitch tread pattern keeps hum on the highway to a minimum.
We mounted the tires on the wheels using our Hunter tire machine, then balanced the assembly using our Hunter Road Force balancer. This balancer ensures that the package will deliver a smooth and stable ride. We used TPMS valve stems so the computer in the truck can display the tire pressure for the driver.
Pickup Truck Lift Kit Installation
In order to clear these new 35-inch tall tires and give the truck an aggressive stance, we installed a ReadyLift 691935 SST 3.5-inch lift kit. The kit includes new upper control arms, machined billet top hat spacers and new rear coil spring spacers and bump stops. The kit lifts the front of the truck 3.5 inches and the rear by 2 inches to give it a nice, level stance.
Truck Steps and Window Tint
To complement the lift, we installed a set of Westin HDX 56140952 steel nerf bars with integrated steps. The bars bolt to the cab of the truck to establish a solid platform for getting in and out of the vehicle.
The last part of the process was to tint the driver and passenger windows for the client. He chose Llumar ATR film for its UV protection and IR rejection properties. As always, we use a computer-controlled plotter to cut our film. We never cut film on the vehicle as that could cause scratches in the glass or damage to the rubber and plastic trim around the windows.
