A client from Cairo recently brought his 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie to Precision Audio to upgrade it with new tires, window tint and several convenience accessories. One of our product specialists worked with the client to choose the perfect solutions for the style, features and performance the client was after. Once they selected what they wanted, we ordered the necessary components and turned the truck over to our team of expert technicians to complete the project.
Ram Laramie Tire and Suspension Upgrade
The first step was to get the truck up on our hoist and remove the stock wheels and tires. One of our technicians then set to work on installing a Zone Offroad two-inch leveling kit. This kit includes a pair of fabricated spacers that increase the height of the front suspension, so the larger tires will fit.
The client chose a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler sized at 37×12.5R20 to give the truck an aggressive look and improved off-road traction. We used our Hunter tire machine to remove the stock tires and install the new Nittos on the factory wheels. Next, we balanced each wheel and tire combination using our Hunter Road Force balancer so everything runs true and will deliver a smooth ride. Finally, we finished with an alignment on the truck to ensure there wouldn’t be any uneven tire wear.
Truck Accessories Add Utility
The next step was to install a CamLocker toolbox in the bed of the truck. The client chose one of the popular low-profile matte black aluminum boxes to store his belongings securely.
The last external upgrade was a B&W TS20049B Trailer Hitch with a triple-ball head. The hitch includes a seven-inch drop, so whatever is behind the truck will be parallel to the ground. With the triple-head design, the client won’t be left stranded if he has to tow a trailer with a differently sized ball.
Premium Window Tint Adds Comfort and Protection
The final upgrade to this Ram 2500 Laramie was installing heat-rejecting Llumar IRX window tint on the driver and passenger windows. With the truck in our sealed window tint bay, our technicians cut the film using our computer-controller plotter. We never cut film on the vehicle because that results in scratches and damage to the glass. In addition, our sealed bay dramatically reduces the chances of dust and debris being caught under the film.
