A gentleman from Niceville, FL, recently contacted our guys at Precision Audio/Line-X of Bainbridge with a special request for his new 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. After a quick inspection of his vehicle, we began working with the client to help him choose solutions that would provide the performance and appearance he wanted. With a plan in place, we scheduled an appointment to upgrade and enhance his vehicle.
We decided to spray and color-match the roof of his FJ with Line-X Pro, which is 300% stronger than other liners, prevents corrosion and is very tear-resistant. The first step in the process was to remove the roof rack and tape off the bolt holes that hold the rack securely to the roof. Then we taped off any areas that would not be sprayed. This prevents overspray from getting on the rest of the vehicle. Once that was done, we sanded the roof of the vehicle, then chemical-wiped it to ensure the surface was clean before applying the Line-X. We sprayed the roof using our Line-X Pro bedliner, which is the strongest and most-durable bedliner available. This bedliner dries in 3–5 seconds thanks to our high-pressure, high-temperature application process. The Line-X coating follows every contour of the roof to ensure it looks as factory as possible.
After we removed our tape and protective plastic, the vehicle was ready to go to our other bay so we could install some new accessories.
The final step in this project was putting our customer’s new ToyTec 3-inch lift kit and his new set of Fuel Assault 20-inch wheels and Toyo Open Country 35/12.50/20 Mud tires on the vehicle. We installed the tires on the rims using our Hunter mounting machine and balanced them using our Road Force balancer for a smooth, vibration-free ride.
With the vehicle complete, it was time for a test drive around the block to make sure everything was snug and in place. Once this was completed, we contacted the customer and let him know he was ready to go. With the customer 100% satisfied and another great build under our belts, we called it a day.
