A client from Bainbridge recently contacted the team at Precision Audio to talk about upgrading his 2018 Ram 1500 with a series of styling, performance and functionality upgrades. One of our product specialists worked with the client to choose solutions that would meet his needs. After we had a shopping list together, the client booked an appointment for our technicians to begin the installation.
Ram Truck Suspension, Wheel and Tire Upgrades
The project started with our team lifting the Ram onto one of our hoists to remove the stock wheels, tires and suspension system. We set to work installing a Rough County 31430 3.5-inch lift kit to provide clearance for larger wheels and give the truck an aggressive look. The kit includes spaces for the front and rear springs, new upper control arms for the front and new shock absorbers for the rear.
Once the suspension was installed and all the fasteners were torqued to spec, we set to work putting the new wheel and tire package together. The client chose Fuel D556 Coupler 20-inch wheels and Nitto 35/12.50/20 tires. We used our Hunter tire mounting machine and Road Force balancer to ensure that the new rolling package would be smooth and safe on the highway. New tire pressure monitoring system sensors communicate with the vehicle to provide tire pressure information, and the locking lug nuts help keep everything safe.
Truck Accessories Add Convenience
Next on the list was the task of installing a Westin 57-397X HDX grille guard. This fully welded one-piece guard features wrap-around wings that protect the headlights and fenders. Our team also bolted a CamLocker 71-inch low-profile toolbox into the bed to give the owner a place to store his tools.
We removed the factory floor mats to make way for a set of WeatherTech mats that provide improved protection against mud and dirt. These custom-molded mats fit the contours of the footwell to keep the carpet clean.
The last step was for our team to tint the windows of this Ram 1500 with Llumar ATR window film. ATR film is designed to block IR energy from the sun to help keep the interior of the vehicle cooler on hot days. We used our computer-controlled plotter to cut that film, so we don’t have to lay a knife on any part of the truck.
