We recently had a customer from Donalsonville, GA, visit us to inquire about a tonneau cover and Line-X for a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. After discussing the different grades of Line-X and the benefits to be gained with the Platinum version, the customer was convinced that Line-X Platinum would be his best option. We set a day and time for him to come back and have one of our professional installers apply the Line-X to his truck and install his new tonneau cover.
The TrailFX tonneau cover we installed is an aluminum tri-fold cover with a sleek matte-black finish and a carpeted underside. As a tri-fold cover, it still gives the owner the ability to use the whole bed of the truck with just a few simple folds for the capability to haul bigger objects without having to remove the cover. One of our favorite features of this tonneau cover is its low-profile design: It truly sits flush with the bed of the truck and gives the appearance that there is no cover on the truck at all.
Line-X Platinum is 300% stronger than our standard Line-X tint and has UV protection to prevent fading of a vehicle’s interior, along with a nationwide lifetime warranty. We started by removing any grease or contaminants that could prevent the Line-X from adhering to the bed of the truck. Then we sanded the bed to give the Line-X coating something to adhere to. To finish the prep, we blew out any dust and wiped down the surface with a chemical wipe. We then masked off the rest of the truck to begin the spray process. Next, we applied the Line-X at 120 mils thick compared to 60 mils for most factory bed liners. To finish, we sprayed the UV coating, which will prevent any fading and retain a long-lasting shine.
