Bringing Music to the Old School with an ’85 Chevy C10 Stereo Upgrade

Chevy C10 Stereo

Want to bring a little life into your old school pickup? Needing some tunes to enjoy those nice, South Georgia rides through our beautiful countryside? Then check out this setup we created for this 1985 Chevy C10 stereo upgrade below.

Moving Beyond AM/FM Stereo Only Tuners

Let’s take a step back here for a minute. So we can appreciate this classic truck in its beauty and class. Back in its day, this thing was a staple of American culture! The Chevy C10 pickup. Sleek body lines and a clean interior. It functioned both as a family truck and a work vehicle. Fast forward a few decades and at thirty years old, it’s still a beauty. Restored C10s are hugely popular for a reason.

One of the most popular upgrades is the stereo. While this shaft-style dual knob AM/FM tuner was great in 1985, nowadays it’s just slightly out of its time.

Modern Chevy C10 Stereo Options

Chevy C10 Stereo-1Moving into the 21st century, we now have much more options for music sources. Luckily, virtually all of our units offer all of the most common options. Options like CD input, auxiliary jacks, USB connectivity for on-device music files, and Bluetooth for wireless music streaming as well as hands-free calling.

Displays are digital and easier to use. Music equalizations make tuning the system to sound great a straightforward and quick process. Built-in outputs allow for adding amplifiers and speakers with direct control from the headunit.

Adding Speakers Without Cutting or Modification

One of the most common things we hear is that our customers want to add great sound to these trucks, but not get into crazy modifications and cutting. No problem, check out these convenient speaker boxes that allow adding speakers without modification. They enable us to install 6x9s, our largest and loudest speakers to ensure you get plenty of volume in your C10.

For those who want a little bit of bass in their systems as well. Shown here is a slim profile, subwoofer box with a single flat 10-inch sub. These boxes fit nicely in with the 6×9 enclosures taking up very little space overall. With a setup such as this legroom isn’t compromised. Enough bass is added with this single, slim 10-inch subwoofer setup to give your music the concert-style feel you’ve been missing. A little extra on the kick drums or a nice bump to the bass guitar solo. Nothing overwhelming or “thumping” in your classic C10.
