Franklin Ford in Colquitt contacted Precision Audio to assist in installing several 2017 Ford F-150 truck accessories for a special project. They wanted to build a truck that offered an excellent balance of style and improved functionality to highlight the flexibility of the latest F-150 platform. We met with them to discuss options for the truck and came up with a solution that was impressive, without being over-the-top. With a plan in place, they dropped off this immaculate Ingot Silver F-150 Platinum with the FX4 package.
Wheel and Tire Upgrade
We started by mounting a set of 20-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires on Fuel Off-Road 20×10-inch wheels. The wheels have a matte black finish with machine-milled accents around each spoke that complement the truck’s chrome accents. We used our Hunter Road Force balancer to ensure the wheel and tire package would provide a smooth and stable ride.
We installed a TrailFX F25LL3 2.5-inch leveling kit on the truck so that the larger front tires wouldn’t rub or scrub at extreme steering angles.
Line-X Bedliner
A key part of the project was the installation of a Line-X Pro spray-in bedliner. Our installation team started by washing down the bed of the truck to remove any debris, oils or grease. The next step involved sanding the paint surface to ensure the liner would adhere securely and last the life of the vehicle. Once prepped, we applied several layers of Line-X.
Ford F-150 Truck Accessories
The next step in the project involved replacing the front bumper with a black Westin 57-3835 HDX-Series wrap-around grille guard. The guard mounts to the truck frame and the upper radiator support, so it won’t vibrate or wiggle while the truck is in motion.
We tinted the driver and passenger door windows with Llumar ATR window film to match the factory tint on the rear windows. We also added a strip of tint across the top of the windshield to cut down on glare from the sun.
We added an aluminum Cam-Locker toolbox with a black finish to the bed to provide a safe place to store tools or supplies. The last step was a set of Husky Liner floor mats to protect the front and rear floorboards of the truck.
