Dean Chrysler Jeep Dodge recently contacted Precision Audio in Bainbridge to inquire about creating a one-off 2019 Jeep Gladiator demo vehicle with Line-X bedliner and a new wheel and tire package. If you haven’t seen the awesome little Gladiator already, it’s a Jeep Wrangler with a small pickup truck bed. Talk about a great combination!
Jeep Gladiator Wheel and Tire Upgrade
Our team did our due diligence and confirmed the bolt pattern and offset of the factory wheels to find a solution that fits perfectly. The dealership wanted something with an aggressive look while ensuring that the vehicle would drive perfectly. After browsing several options, they settled on a set of Fuel Off-Road D556 Coupler wheels in a 20-inch diameter. These eight-spoke wheels have a matte black finish with tinted machined surfaces.
Our technicians mounted a set of Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 33×12.5/20 tires on the wheels using our Hunter tire machine. We balanced the assembly using our Road Force balancer to make sure the Jeep would have a smooth ride on the highway. We finished the wheel installation with a set of locking lug nuts to prevent theft.
Line-X Spray-in Bedliner
The next step was to protect the 60-inch-long bed with Line-X Pro bedliner. Our technicians washed the bed to remove dust and debris, then sanded the surface to give the durable Line-X polyurea coating something to stick to. Once the bed was sanded, we vacuumed all the dust and gave it a final wipe to remove all traces of oil or grease. We masked off the area around the bed then applied the spray-on liner using our high-temperature, high-pressure applicator.
In a Pro-level application like this, the liner is 120 mil thick and offers 300% better protection than competing products. We finished the installation with a rough textured topcoat to provide grip for packages or people standing in the bed loading or unloading cargo. Line-X Pro is UV-resistant, so it won’t fade over time. The coating remains flexible to absorb impacts and prevent dents and scratches in the bed. In short, the bed will continue to look great for years.
The bed coating cures in just a few minutes. We removed the masking and reinstalled the cargo hooks and applied a Line-X badge on the right side of the bed to let whoever purchases the truck know that this is the best bed protection solution available.
