A customer from Sneads, Florida, dropped by Precision of Bainbridge looking to do some upgrades to the factory audio system in his 2015 GMC Sierra. He loved the features of the factory radio, but was not satisfied with the way the system sounded. The customer emphasized that he wanted the system to be loud, clean and clear with a little more bass. After a demo of multiple speakers and subwoofers, we felt like we had the perfect system picked out and set his appointment for the following day.

We started the project by removing the factory-installed door speakers from the Sierra to make way for the 6.5-inch Rockford T1650 speakers we would be installing. Our installers used a set of mounting adapters from PAC Audio that are milled out of a single piece of expanded PVC. These adapters ensure that the new speakers will bolt to the doors, using the factory fastener locations. For the rear doors, we used a matching pair of Rockford T1650 6.5-inch full-range speaker system with a coaxially mounted tweeter.

To wrap up this install, we used a Rockford P300-10T amplified enclosure. The P300-10T was designed to fit into small areas but pack a mean punch — this was the ideal sound for our customer. The slick, vinyl-wrapped enclosure designed by Rockford features a 10” Punch subwoofer powering an internal 300 Watt amplifier. This setup has a built-in intelligent auto turn on/off function, which means you don’t have to install a Line Out Converter (LOC) and only requires you to run a power, ground and remote wire to get it playing.

The owner loved the way the new system sounded and how loud, clean and clear it was compared to the factory version.

If you’re interested in upgrading the stereo system in your car or truck, drop by Precision and talk to one of our product specialists. You can reach our Bainbridge store at 229-246-2111 and our Thomasville location at 229-243-5001.
