A client from Thomasville recently dropped into Precision Audio to ask about new tires and a few accessories to upgrade his 2018 Toyota Tundra. The client wanted a more aggressive tire that would improve off-road handling and the look of the truck. He also wanted side steps, window tint and rain guards. After a quick check of the vehicle, one of our Product Specialists worked with the client to choose products that fit the vehicle and his budget. With a plan in place, we scheduled an appointment to begin the upgrades.
Toyota Truck Wheel and Suspension Upgrade
The client chose Nitto Ridge Grappler tires in a tall 295/70-18 size for his Tundra. These tires have a diameter of just over 34 inches, and as such, we needed to address body clearance issues on the front of the vehicle. Our team installed a Rough Country 87000 3-inch leveling kit on the front of the Toyota. The kit includes several height options, and we opted for the maximum 3-inch lift to provide as much clearance as possible. After the installation was complete and the tires were mounted on the stock wheels, we performed a suspension alignment to ensure that the truck would drive safely.
Step Bars and Window Vents
The client chose a set of Westin HDX Xtreme Nerf Step bars to make getting in and out of the now-taller truck easier. Just as with the suspension component upgrade, our team torqued all the fasteners to specification to ensure safety and reliability.
We finished off the accessory upgrades with a set of Auto Ventshade 94309 Ventvisor side window deflectors. These let the driver roll the windows down about an inch without having to worry about water getting into the truck if it’s raining.
Window Tint Adds Style and Comfort
The last step to personalizing this Tundra was to roll the truck into our dedicated window tint bay and install Llumar CTX film on the side windows. CTX is a premium nano-ceramic film that not only looks great but also blocks almost 70% of the infrared energy from the sun to help keep the interior of the vehicle cooler.
