Upgrades for 2021 Toyota Tacoma from Cairo, Georgia

A client from Cairo recently brought his 2021 Toyota Tacoma to Precision Audio for a slew of style and performance upgrades. The client wanted a leveling kit, a grille guard, tool storage and a side-step solution. One of our truck accessory experts worked with the client to choose solutions to provide the functionality and style he wanted. With everything picked out, we scheduled an appointment for our technicians to begin the upgrade process.

Toyota Pickup Truck Leveling Kit

We started the project by lifting the truck on one of our hoists to remove the front wheels and disassemble the suspension to install a TrailFX T22LL2 leveling kit. This kit adds 2.25 inches of height to the front of the truck to give it a flat stance. We installed the fabricated steel spacers on the front struts and added the differential drop spacers and new hardware. We always use a calibrated Snap-On torque wrench to fasten everything back to factory specifications to ensure that the vehicle is safe. We finished the project by adjusting the alignment using our Hunter digital alignment machine to keep the truck driving straight and true.

Our technicians securely mounted the Rough Country side steps for ease of entry and exit.

The Rough Country side steps provide much needed assistance with entry and exit, especially paired with the new leveling kit.

Once the leveling kit was installed, the techs turned their attention to the front of the vehicle and removed the stock bumper. The client chose a Ranch Hand Legend Series grille guard to protect the front of the vehicle. This one-piece upgrade bolts directly to the frame to make it as solid as possible. Welded tubular headlight protectors wrap around the vehicle to keep everything safe.

While the truck was up in the air, the team mounted a set of Rough Country RCT0580CC Nerf-bar style side steps along the sides of the cab. These bars include front and rear hoop-style steps with integrated platforms to make it easier to climb in and out of the cab. The steps bolt directly to the cab using existing fastener locations and new hardware that’s included in the kit.

Premium Tool Storage and Protection

The last part of accessorizing this Tacoma was to install a CamLocker low-profile 63-inch toolbox in the bed just behind the cab. The client chose a box with a black matte to match the steps and front grille. The toolbox is made of welded steel and includes high-strength cam-style locks to keep everything secure.
