A client from Bainbridge recently contacted Precision Audio about upgrading his 2018 Ford Expedition with a suspension lift kit, new wheels and tires and window tint. We had a look at the truck to confirm the bolt pattern and stock wheel size before browsing our wheel catalogs for a solution that met the client’s taste. With the wheels picked out and ordered, we chose a suspension lift package and window film solution that met the client’s needs and set a date for the installation.
Fuel Wheels and BF Goodrich Tires
The client chose a set of Fuel Off-Road Contra D615 wheels in a 20-inch size. These wheels have a gloss black finish with machined aluminum accents around the 10 tapered spokes. The lip of the wheel has 10 hex-head screw heads between each spoke to give the design a “bead-lock”-like appearance.
We wrapped the wheels in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires sized at 275/60-20 in a Light Truck design. The tires have a D load range rating and are designed to provide a good balance of on-road comfort and off-road traction.
As always, we used our Hunter tire mounting machine to ensure that the tire was placed on the rim without damage. We finished the tire-to-wheel installation with our Hunter Road Force balancing machine to keep the Expedition running smoothly down the road with no vibrations. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) valve stems enable the computer in the truck to monitor the tire pressure safely.
Readylift Truck Lift Kit
For optimal clearance for these 32.9-inch tall tires, we suggested the ReadyLift 692830 lift kit. This lift kit includes a set of billet aluminum and fabricated steel strut spacers. The front of the truck is raised 3 inches while the rear goes up 2 inches. The result is a nicely balanced appearance and wheel clearance for up to 33-inch tires with the factory wheel or 35-inches with an aftermarket wheel.
Llumar Premium Window Tint
The client wanted a window tint that would look great and help keep the interior of his black truck cool. We suggested our Llumar ATR tint. After cleaning the windows in our dust-free tinting bay, the team installed tint on the driver and passenger windows so that it would match the rear window of the truck.
