A client from Colquitt recently contacted Precision Audio to discuss upgrading his new 2019 Ford F-150 with a complete accessory package. He wanted window tint, new wheels and tires, a grille guard, a toolbox and, of course, our signature Line-X spray-in bedliner. After looking through several catalogs with the client, he chose the grille and wheels that he liked and scheduled an appointment to begin work.
Ford F-150 Wheel and Tire Upgrade
The client chose a set of 20-inch Fuel Off-Road Assault D546 wheels and wanted us to mount BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 285/65-20 tires on them. These tires have a diameter of 34.6 inches and as such, the truck would need some suspension modifications in order for the tires to clear the front fenders.
Knowing this, we ordered a TrailFX F25LL3 2.5-inch leveling kit for the truck. This kit raises the front of the truck by 2.5 inches so that the tires will turn freely.
We mounted the BF Goodrich tires on the Fuel wheels using our Hunter tire machine, then balanced them on our Road Force balancer to ensure a smooth, comfortable and safe ride. We used a set of locking lug nuts to keep the tire package safe and secure on the vehicle.
Heavy-Duty Grille Guard and Toolbox
The client wanted a decidedly rugged look for his truck, so he chose a Westin HDX-Series 573835 grille guard for the front of the vehicle. The HDX guards feature 2-inch diameter tubes on the wrap-around wings and welded one-piece construction for unrivaled durability.
We also installed a CamLocker toolbox at the back of the bed. These American-made aluminum boxes are weathertight and use a rugged cam-based locking system to ensure the lid stays closed to protect the contents.
Line-X Spray-In Truck Bedliner
Next on the work order was the installation of our Line-X Pro spray-in bedliner. After cleaning, degreasing and sanding the truck bed, then masking off any surfaces that would not be receiving the bedliner coating, we sprayed on a 115 mil coating of Line-X. Compared to the factory bedliner option, our coating is twice as thick and comes with a lifetime guarantee against peeling, bubbling or cracking.
Heat-Rejecting Window Tint
We finished this upgrade project by installing LLumar ATR window tint on the driver and passenger windows. ATR window film not only looks great, but it can block as much as 54% of the infrared heat energy from the sun to help keep the interior of the vehicle cool.
