A client from Colquitt recently visited Precision Audio to discuss options for new Ford Expedition wheels, tires and window tinting. The client had just purchased his 2018 Expedition and wanted to personalize it. We looked at the truck then worked with the client to choose a wheel and tire package that would offer the performance and style he wanted.
Ford Expedition Wheels and Tires
After looking at several websites and catalogs, the client chose a set of Fuel D263 Warrior 20-inch wheels. The Warrior wheels have a gloss black finish with machined accents around the spokes. We wrapped the wheels in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in a 285/65-20 size. These 34.5-inch tall tires offer an excellent balance of on-road control and off-road traction.
Our installation team the mounted the tires on the wheels using our Hunter tire machine after installing a new set of Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS). Ensuring that the TPMS system works reliably is crucial to maintaining the safety of this large SUV. Once the tires were mounted, we balanced them with our Hunter Road Force balancing machine to ensure the Ford Expedition wheels would provide a smooth and safe ride.
Ford Expedition Lift Kit
To provide the proper clearance for the new tires, we installed a ReadyLift 69-2830 lift kit on the truck. This kit adds three inches to the front of the truck and two inches in the rear using strut spacers. This kit not only increases the space between the tires and the fenders to safe operation, but it also levels the stance of the truck for an aggressive look.
Computer-Cut Window Tint
The last step in this upgrade project was to tint the windows of the truck. The client chose our Llumar ATR High-Performance Metallized window tint. Unlike dyed tints, the ATR film blocks 44 percent of the heat energy from the sun to help keep the interior of the vehicle cool on hot Georgia summer days.
Our installation team uses a computer-controlled plotter to cut the film we install. This method eliminates the need to cut the film on the vehicle – a process that can leave scratches and gouges in the glass.
